My letter to the daveramsey.com Webmaster

I wrote the webmaster of daveramsey.com. Here is my 1:30 am letter, which I probably should have waited until tomorrow to write. You know, when I will be able to think clearly.
I wanted to let you know that I will be returning the FPU membership kit that I purchased from you.

I purchased FPU through daveramsey.com because the website states:
"Get a lifetime membership with the purchase of this Membership Kit... Enhance your FPU experience with online features including budgeting software, an active discussion community, bonus articles, videos and more."
http://www.daveramsey.com/shop/Financial_Peace_University_Mem_P614C36.cfm

We decided that the cost above and beyond what we could purchase the kit on ebay for was worth it because of the lifetime budgeting software, discussion community, etc.

I had to call and speak with someone about something else and found out that the budgeting software and discussion community are only available for a short time, not the ’lifetime’ that is implied. It was only after you log in to the MRC – after purchase - that it states that the budgeting software and discussion community are available for a limited time. I feel that this is misleading. While I am sure it wasn’t intentionally misleading, I do hope that you correct it before someone else makes the same mistake.

Thank you-

For the record:
1) this is the last time I will mention this because I am sure you are all tired of hearing about it
2) I really don't think it is written to be intentionally misleading. Who knows... maybe I am the only one who reads it this way?
3) I hope that Jeannette (I think that was her name. She had a southern accent and spoke really softly...) was right when she said that I can return the kit. I have already won the ebay auction and the only thing worse than having a kit you paid too much for is having two kits.
